Bell Laboratories (also known as Bell Labs and formerly known as AT&T Bell Laboratories and Bell Telephone Laboratories) is the research and development subsidiary of the French-owned Alcatel-Lucent in Berkeley Heights, New Jersey. It previously was a division of the American Telephone & Telegraph Company (AT&T), half-owned through its Western Electric manufacturing subsidiary.
