English: Photograph of Jerusalem mayor Mordechai Ish Shalom, and Yitzhak Ben Tsvi (the president of Israel) standing next to the ruins of redemption hotel (מלון הגאולה) built by Jeanne Merkus, aka "house of the 144.000" after the biblical verse Revelation 7:4 ("And I heard the number of the sealed, 144,000, sealed from every tribe of the sons of Israel:"). In the back can be seen Heichal Shlomo, the seat of the chief rabbinate, which was completed in 1958
