Resumen

Descripción A statue of a Boy Scout was erected in Gödöllõ, Hungary on the tenth anniversary of the 1933 World Jamboree. The original, by sculptor Lõrinc Siklôdy, was located across from the Guard Barracks in Gödöllõ Park until 1948, when Communist forces, after liberating the country from Germany, occupied it and suppressed Scouting. In 1994, after democracy and Scouting was reestablished in Hungary, the community moved to put the statue back in its place. The original statue could not be found, and a committee was established with the purpose of erecting a new statue. They decided to enlarge Zsigmond Kisfaludy Strobl's 50 cm statuette entitled The Boy Scout. A student of Kisfaludy Strobl, Istvân Paâl, was chosen to complete the work. The new statue of a Boy Scout standing on the original pedestal was unveiled on April 23, 1994, commemorating yet again the 1933 World Jamboree.
