Kalandia checkpoint between Jerusalem and Ramallah is known as a frequent flash point between Palestinian protesters and Israeli security forces.

Kalandia () also Qalandiya is a Palestinian village located in the West Bank, between Jerusalem and Ramallah. In 2006, 1,154 people were living in the village according to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics.In 1949, Jordan established a refugee camp in the area, 11 kilometers from Jerusalem, for Palestinians refugees from Lydda, Ramle and Jerusalem victims of the 1948 Palestinian exodus.
