Peachtree Street is the main street of Atlanta. Beginning at Five Points in Downtown Atlanta, it runs north through Midtown and, upon entering Buckhead, its name changes to Peachtree Road. The city grew up around the street, and Peachtree Street is for Atlanta what Broadway is for the city of New York: the proverbial and legendary heart of the city. Much of Atlanta's historic and noteworthy architecture is located along Peachtree Street. The street is used annually for parades, including the Atlanta St. Patrick's Day Parade and the Atlanta Christmas Parade, as well as one-time parades, such as for the 100th anniversary of Coca-Cola in 1988 and the Atlanta Braves 1995 World Series victory.
