Lydiate is a village and civil parish in the Metropolitan Borough of Sefton in Merseyside, England but historically in Lancashire.The Village is the only remaining official village in Merseyside, this was declared in 2010 following Knowsley Village becoming officially Prescot,the changes followed the amount of Greenbelt land around the parishes.
